As a landlord in Brussels, you can claim various renovation grants to improve and make your property more sustainable. The Renolution premiums, introduced on March 1, 2022, are designed to streamline this financial support and make it more accessible to Brussels residents.

What is the Renolution grant system?

The Renolution system bundles and replaces previous renovation grants, such as the Energy Premium and the Residential Renovation Premium. This support measure covers a wide range of work, from heating and ventilation to electrical installations.

  • Premium J: Heating systems (e.g., heat pumps, solar water heaters)
  • Premium K: Sanitary installations
  • Premium L: Electricity and gas installations
  • Premium M: Controlled mechanical ventilation.

So you can apply for premiums for a variety of projects, such as the installation of a new heating system or double-glazing, and it is even possible to submit multiple applications for one home.

Eligibility criteria

Several profiles are eligible for a Renolution premium, including:

  • Owner-occupiers
  • Landlords
  • Tenants
  • Administrators

The property for which the premium is requested must be located in the Brussels Capital Region and have been built more than 10 years ago. In addition, it is a requirement that the work be performed by an approved professional registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises and liable for VAT.

Grant amount

Financial support can be up to 90% of the total project cost. The exact amount of the premium is influenced by:

  • The type of work
  • Family income
  • The location of the property
